Admittedly I'm not as hot on youth culture as I was when I was of that age, but Bruno Mars has the number one single (his third) and album (his debut, straight in) this week yet as far as I can tell outside the pop sphere he's had no cultural impact at all, not even in an ironic fashion. Is this how debased the idea of record sales is now?
