2011: Things you hope DiS will do more of, less of, themed days/weeks and have 'takeover'
Just plotting content for the next few months, looking at ways we can do things better and which acts we might get do takeovers for a day/week. We've just lined up a Deerhoof day for later this month.
Curious what you liked last year (I know Wendy and Rory's columns have gone down really well - always worth re-iterating for those we've not read them) and what you think we could do better.
Personally, I've really liked the local columns as a way of knowing what's going on across the country and in major cities around the world, and hope to do more of that this year. Am also considering more round-ups and mixtapes (although not sure how many of you can listen to music or watch videos whilst at work), rather than a constant drip of things (or collating things that have been dripped) but still need to get my head around that. Considering different ways of covering live music, as well as improving the ability to flick through the editorial and the boards, as if they were vinyl racks but that will have to wait until a proper design, which is on the cards for 2011, if we can find the funds (still debating the whole fan-funded thing).
First developer day for several months next week, hope to fix a few bugs (like posts vanishing if people reply too quickly which has gone on far too long) and hope to make a few little changes, like pulling in the Songkick gig listings, making the galleries nicer but only got enough dosh for a day, so will have to see how it goes. If you've noticed anything iffy, here's a good place to mention it...
