Who has had this problem?
A view count-freeze on Youtube, lasting for weeks?
I've got a clip on there, and I can see that quite a few people are watching it, on the Insights, and on links from my homepage and FB-page. My channel-views also keep increasing, and I've done nothing on this channel but upload this clip, so it can't be because people see comments by me around and about the site, for example.
It is so strange to me, this. The clip got a lot of views in the first few hours, then the view count froze, and it's been frozen since. It's been four weeks.
I've heard about temporary freezes, lasting a couple of days or so, that happen while the system catches up.
This also has me wondering slightly... You don't see view count-freezes on clips with 'famous' people in them. So is it a technical problem, truly? It doesn't seem to apply to all clips... Could it be that certain tags are on a certain, long list that is recognized by the system, a system that treats these tags with urgency? While other clips that get a lot of views when first uploaded are put a lid on in some cases? Are there forces on there that don't appreciate the competition? Is it a technical problem or a financial issue? I've been getting the thought... At least in areas where money can ultimately be made from a clip's popularity? Maybe all this are crazy notions, but Youtube doesn't answer any questions about what is going on, so one is left to speculate by oneself.
What I'm experiencing even puts a certain perspective on some Youtube success-stories.
