Just watched an Aerosmith video on TV (Love in an Elevator, since you asked). I've always thought of them as America's answer to The Rolling Stones - rubber-lipped singers, warring frontmen/guitarists, drugs, sustained success, distinct lack of middle-age spreads or hair loss and so on and so forth.

So who's the American Bowie, or the British Motley Crue? Is Clay Aiken their Will Young? Are Vampire Weekend a savvier Menswear? Is Professor Green our Asher Roth?
