I'm a man of simple tastes, and find I'm generally uninterested or unimpressed by acts everyone raves about on DiS. I'm also bored with all the songs on my iPod.

Please could someone recommend some toe-curlingly catchy tunes? They don't have to be happy-go-lucky, slick or cheesy - just something with a snappy melody and mind-burrowing abilities.

As a rough guide, lately I've been listening to The Lemonheads (my favourite band), Ben Folds Five, The Rakes, David Bowie (mostly singles), The Ramones, Mystery Jets, Bon Iver, The Shins, Brendan Benson, Beirut, The Tallest Man on Earth, Belinda Carlisle (childhood crush still burning strong), Doves, Elliott Smith etc.
