Value of Music
Should a song you love be cost more to you (financially) than a song you don't like? Or rather, should you and do you give back more to the artists you really love?
Partly I find it odd people are buying that Ellie Goulding to such an extent that its number 1 (and sort of wonder whether John Lewis woulda been better off giving it away to attract traffic to their website) but mostly I've been pondering the whole fan-funding thing a little more in a blog post I just did http://seaninsound.tumblr.com/post/1668670454/future-of-music-by-sean-adams
Without wanting to kick-off another existential crisis, I'm really curious whether you value songs you love more than other music, and whether you've gone out of your way, in terms of tickets, t-shirts and othersuch trinkets, to ensure the person who wrote it gets a bit of money. And how you think this might vary in the future...
