Records + Gigs: October highlights // November & Dec hopes
So, October zoomed by. For me, it was a fairly intense month of DiS anniversary events (worriedaboutsatan, Health and No Age were all spectacular - also really enjoyed Factory Floor and Mazes at In the City) and juggling with trying to pull off some big content (that childhood-dream Trent Reznor interview finally happened!). Also last month I finally got to see Emeralds, which was pretty good, save for the fact I had to leave half-way through to get the last train!!
Album of the Month = Age of Adz - Sufjan finally delivered good on his promise, especially after that terrible EP he put out where he forgot to sing in tune.
EP of the Month = Klavierwerke ep - James Blake for every tip list of 2011, plz.
November has gotten off to a cracking start with the new Bryan Ferry and Eno records. Can't say there's much else due out this year, off the top of my head, that I'm super excited about as the idea of the Daft Punk's Tron soundtrack and Pinkerton re-issue and the accompanying diaries has pretty much hijacked my mind. As has the thought of album of the year lists and tips for 2011 but also there wasn't much on here http://features.metacritic.com/features/upcoming-album-release-calendar/ - what else is due?
