Let’s have a big thread about pop music, where we can discuss everything in one continuous mess, like those big threads about less great genres like dub-step and stuff.

Talk about stuff you like, stuff you hate, stuff you’re looking forward to hearing/seeing, old stuff, new stuff, etc. Has anyone being to any big pop concerts recently?

I actually began this thread because I intended to make a thread about The Wanted, but kept forgetting to and now it seemed kind of too late to make one. They’re pretty rubbish. ‘All Time Low’ is a good idea, but I don’t think it should’ve been given to them to sing, because they have incredibly bland, lifeless voices. That bit where one of them sings “Something something something line / Waiting at the station / Or I’m late for work / a vital presentation” is probably one of the worst sung lines I’ve heard in so, so, so long. And, to top it all off, none of them are fit. They’re not ugly or anything, just quite average. I saw them on TV one day and wondered if the token fit one was off sick or something, but nope. I guess if you’re in a boy band these days that isn’t Take That or JLS you might as well GTFO.

I fucking love ‘Get Outta My Way’ by Kylie, but for some reason I think it might actually be a bit meh. I’m listening to it now and I still dunno.

How could Example possibly win the Popjustice £20 Music Prize? Baffling. 'Once' and 'I Left My Heart in Tokyo' were in the shortlist and everything.
