Just wondering if any Irish DISers went to Oxegen and what their thoughts were.

I'm only 17, so it was my first festival experience, and I have to say I enjoyed it immensely. There wasn't any trouble where I was camped and the vibes in general were very good.

Arcade Fire absolutely blew me away, it was my first time seeing them live and they lived up to all expectations... I can't help but feel they were wasted a tad on some people at the main stage, but by the end of Wake Up everyone was in the palm of their hands. The new stuff sounded great too, even previously released stuff that I wasn't overly enthused about was given a new lease of life live.

Empire of the Sun was another highlight, not a huge fan of them on record, but they put on a great show. I also hugely enjoyed Wild Beasts, Dirty Projectors, Local Natives, Yeasayer and, though I left early to see Arcade Fire, Villagers. The Drums was probably the most fun I had all weekend. I know they divide opinion, but their songs are just so catchy and their performance was full of such joy and energy that I don't care how many bands they ripped off, or how contrived they are.

All in all it was a great weekend, only lowlight was missing Broken Social Scene for that excuse of a world cup final...
