Lichens and Part Wild Horses Mane on Both Sides, Sacred Trinity, Manchester, 27th October
Really pleased to have just confirmed this excellent show. Both bands are truly mesmerising and will hopefully sound amazing in the church.
Tickets are £8 from here http://www.wegottickets.com/event/86328
and here's my spiel about the bands, really check out that Lichens video, and it'll be great to see some of you there.
Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe is Lichens.
Lichens creates a transfixing experience which loops wordless and mutating vocals into huge curtains of drone. Lowe adds acoustic and electric guitars, percussion and other effects to create alternately thick and delicate works. A Lichens live performance is utterely mesmeric and completely unforgettable.
Spontaneous improvisational composition by form and function is the basis for Lichens. Injecting evolution and natural process into the art form is key. Reflection of internalized experience illuminates symbiosis, serendipity and synchronicity ultimately opening the door. Mistakeisms prevail, time only tells and future past is the next window.

Part Wild Horse Manes On Both Sides
Avant-primitivism of immense beauty on flute, voice and raw and clattering percussion courtesy of Kelly Jones and Pascal Nichols. Hypnotic and floating.
“It’s jazz in terms of the organisational hierarchy that it’s filtered through, it’s psychedelic in that it’s keyed to an unusual feel for time and space, and it’s punk in that it refuses any previous mode of getting there. So is it punk jazz? This time, just maybe.” David Keenan - The Wire
