It's obviously an important issue but you don't see it discussed much. The average musician's bank account, what does it look like? I've heard some horror stories over the years but how close to the breadline are they? Will The Futureheads ever have to go back to day jobs? Gang Gang Dance, how much would they have got from Florence and the Machine over that plagiarism thing? Or Boys Noize, for 'American Boy'?

I know it's an ugly topic but I'm genuinely interested/nosey about it. Has anything been written about how artists are paid these days?
