Does anyone else think DiS give out too many 8/10 ratings? I dunno if it's because I'm used to other reviewers who really only go above 7/10 for the truly outstanding or if this is another site that doesn't really hold with the theory that 5/10 is an average record - a standpoint that is very hard to stick to these days.

How many of us still feel enthusiastic about seeking out a 6/10 record? Technically it is above average and not far off being a 'good' record. Do you think DiS worry that anything below 8/10 will put potential purchasers off good records?

Am I over analysing this?
