I've been trawling the web for Latitude tickets since it sold out a couple of weeks ago. Having placed an ad on Gumtree yesterday, I received a phone call from someone who had 2 tickets for sale at face value. I'm quite cautious here as I've almost been ripped off by a seller on Scarlet Mist before and don't have £165 to spare, being young n' all.

I asked the guy (who seemed fairly open, although he did seem to be whispering, almost growling the information at me) if I could pick the tickets up in person, and he said fine with no hesitation. He said he has a friend who works for the ticket distribution company (or something like that) who got him the tickets. A friend pointed out that this means there'll be no confirmation email, and probably no receipt either.

He lives in Luton, which is a 2 1/2 hour drive from me, or a very expensive train. And as he was ok with me picking the tickets up in person and has them in hand, I've assumed that if he is going to rip me off it'll be with fake tickets, rather than no tickets.

Do you know of any companies that could collect the money and the tickets, check both are genuine and deliver to the recipients? And how does it feel to you? I'm trying not to let the fact that I'm desperate for tickets interfere but I'm not sure how objective I'm being. What do you think?
