a) I admire the optimism of the bloke who seemingly doesn't know why bands would rather go to Birmingham than Leicester.

b) The city's many existing venues hardly pull punters in as it is (cf any night I put on), this seems a touch dicey. (Especially for the people who've put thousands into an independently run 1150 capacity venue that's opening in mid-August, only to find Academy Group landing on their doorstep with bigger plans a month later)
