Folk Club of the Year at this year's BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards was awarded to The Magpie's Nest, the genre-hopping, boundary pushing 21st century folk club based in London.

The club is currently on a nationwide tour and Manchester's For Folk's Sake (mentioned in Drowned in Manchester) is hosting the Manchester leg - which just so happens to be this Saturday at Contact Theatre (right next to the university)
