Yesterday at Manchester Opera House, what a show! His spoken word cracked me up and the songs are simply beautiful. Nothing of I'm New Here, but I didn't expect that as it's such a heavily produced album. All the old songs still haven't lost their charm, immediacy and force.
Gil has charisma and it was amazing to notice how the audience went from engaged listening to and laughing about his stories to silent enjoyment of the songs.
I feel lucky to have been part of this concert.
