Properly out of the loop and though this may sound lazy it's difficult to jump straight back in. I dunno where to start, especially as I hadn't heard anything that good at all at the start of the year either (Hot Chip, These New Puritans, Beach House and Vampire Weekend all solid 7-7.5s, mind). Awful lot of Best New Music tags from P4K and seemingly loads of 9/10s from DiS so it's a muddle for me right now.

I've had one listen each to the new Futureheads, Ikonika, Titus Andronicus, MGMT and Fang Island records. They're all pretty good to be fair; TA in parts kicks epic amounts of dick.

So: what're the genuinely strong records I should be looking into?
