Recommend me a pair of high-end headphones and amp...please
Hey everyone, I always seem to be asking loads of question on this forum but I constantly get useful, productive responses so I thought I'd try again.
I know this has been asked before but I couldn't dig up much so I thought I'd ask anyway. Sorry to cover old ground.
So, I'm going to order a new pair of headphones and amplifier to listen to high quality files mainly from my Ipod or laptop (HQ MP3,Lossless, FLAC or directly from vinyl/CD source) I'm moving away so earphone listening will soon be my main way to enjoy my music collection. I think it's worth the investment in this sense.
I'm unsure what to go for basically and don't know where is best to read reviews.
I've heard good things about the Sennheiser HD 25-1 II on here but not much more.
Currently, I use a pair of over the ear noise-cancelling Sennheiser PXC350's with pretty good sound but I'm looking for something a lot more high-end which is basically there to produce an authentic, accurate sound of my music. The 350's are quite huge and the noise cancelling messes or 'colours' the sound dynamics..it can sound awesome but it takes effort and when switched on, the noise cancelling can be quite intrusive.
I'd like to be able to push the bass and trebles to quite an extent so that means I'd need something pretty durable...if that makes sense. I listen to a very broad range of stuff from bass heavy beats, high detailed electronic artists to jazz and heavy rock. I've been looking at these on this website:

I'd prefer to spend less than 200 on a new pair with maybe 220 being the top level. Spending 300 plus seems a bit mad to me! (see website above)
I would be using them to enjoy my music, not for studio or sound engineering use but I would definitely appreciate this level of quality. I'd get an amp too which would also put me back what...20 quid? I'd hope to not need to really think about headphones again after this purchase.
Sorry I've been really wordy here!
I look forward to your responses and many thanks in advance!
