I took my girlfriend and a friend to Cafe Oto to see them, I love the EP and had heard they were amazing live.
But expectations were not raised by a support act that consisted of a drug-muffled escaped mental patient slapping the de-tuned strings of a variety of ill-cared-for instruments and arbitrarily clicking effects pedals while moaning in to a microphone clenched between his teeth. Outrageously we seemed to be the only people who found this both shit and hilarious, the rest of the room stared intently and stroked their muso chins. The guy was heroic in following his own muse, but it was still fucking terrible.
I did enjoy the support slots by members of the band, especially the singer/bassist's electronica/bass/vocal set. Impressive, but the others in my party did not really agree and were beginning to get very, very impatient with me. According to them, the headline set had better be something special or I could get to fuck if they were ever coming to anything I'd recommend ever again.

Luckily they turned in one of the best shows I've ever seen any band give. This consensus was shared, my reputation recovered, and we all found a new favourite band. Top night.
