It’s been suggested by a few people that we should setup a label or produce a compilation or something showcasing the bands who play our nights.

I haven’t been keen in the past to be involved with setting up/running a label due to the costs, the fear of having hundred’s of cd’s/vinyl sitting my bedroom which I cant’ sell and other things. However on the plus side, I would love to generally try to help, support, promote further bands we love and for them to gain new fans.

Since download’s are big thing these days. It makes me wonder whether releasing a single or something might be a good idea. I wouldn’t expect to be rolling in cash but it would be nice to at least help bands get something out there and not lose a load of money.

Are any of you already running or perhaps thinking of setting up a label?

What are your experiences?
