Looking for people to help writing music blog...
Hey there. I'm looking for maybe a couple or more people to help me with my music blog (and eventually site).
I've been writing and designing and basically trying to get this thing off the ground for about 4 months now. I have the usual MyFace profile and blog www.raamb-recordings.co.uk (with proper URL!) set up, and recently got a logo sorted, which one of the members from this site did for me.
I know that every other person on here has a blog, and I also know that every other person thinks that nobody reads blog and they are shit. But you have to start somewhere don't you?
And to be honest, I've had quite a few people send me their music and ask me to write about their band and upcoming releases (so somebody must read it), and this is one of the reasons why I'm asking for help. I can't keep up with the bands I want to write about, and also the bands who are getting in contact with me asking for reviews.
Eventually I want to release music and so one through the Raamb brand, and I'm planning this bit by bit. I will get a proper site sorted when I get back to England in a few months, and will try to push this project as far as I can.
I've been trying to think how I want the blog to be run/seen as, and all I can say is that it's more of a recommendation site than a place to bash bands. I only recommend music I like, and I don't spend my time writing bad reviews. It's a waste of time and I don't get anything in return.
7, 8, 9 or 10 out of 10 are the only scores I would ever give a release. Anything below I feel is not worth writing about.
I like to try to be as genuine and unpretentious as possible with my writing. And I don't like cocky reviewers or anyone who bashes bands (unless they truly deserve it). I'd also like to point out that I'm not the greatest writer in the world, I failed my English GCSEs, but I try my best to make the blog look as professional as possible.
Well, it seems that I'm going on a bit here... If you're interested leave a comment or send me an email to raambrecordings@googlemail.com
I've got plenty more to tell you about, but I'm gonna wait first to see if anybody is even interested in lending a hand.
Cheers.
