quick question: has anyone read barney hoskyns book on tom waits?
i'm not sure whether to read it ot not...
my thing is with waits...i like that there is still a small bit of mystery there and i'm not sure i really want a warts and all account of what sort of socks he wears or what he likes for breakfast...
one of my faveourite music books of all time is 'tom waits: the collected interviews'.....because he gives you some information, but only what he is comfortable with...he still twists the interviewer around in some points and strings along the most wonderful tall tales...
i dunno...obviously i want to know more about the man and the music, but not to the point where he's just reduced to another musical cardboard cut out.....
so it is more about the music or the man is i guess what i'm asking?
