Plastic People Under Threat of Closure.
I'll be blunt, having been a club promoter for over 15 years, i've seen club "scenes" and genres come and go. Most of the worthwhile ones, before they've been heard of by most people, had their genesis at Plastic People. A 200 capacity venue in london with an amazing sound system, electric atmosphere, and no lights. It's all about the music.
A list of people who have dj'ed there would read like a who's who of the last 15 years. I myself put on the Long Blondes Live, The Unicorns first uk gig, Lindstrom and Prins Thomas, Erol Alkan, 2manydj's Justice, James Murphy, the Rapture, it's the home of dubstep , and it's earlier incarnation was the birthplace of britpop as most people knew it and beyond that, the initial home to Trash. It's where amazing things star and is a place worth saving,
I don't know that just joining a facebook group will do it. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=312688015977
