Shit-hot clubnight alert: woo. - Queen of Hoxton, February 18th, 8pm - 2am, FREE!
I'm DJing at woo. tomorrow, at London's delirious Queen of Hoxton. It's free entry, it's on a Thursday and it's a-happening between the hours of 8pm and 2am. It is going to be so, so good.
Three of us will be DJing, and the press release says we'll be playing the following types of things (alright, they're not types - they're bands):
My Bloody Valentine, Air France, Yo La Tengo, Memory Tapes, The Ronettes, Air, New Order, The Shangri-Las, Neon Indian, Vivian Girls, The Velvet Underground, Sonic Youth, The Cure, Summer Camp, Beach House, TV On The Radio, M83, The Knife, Iggy and The Stooges, Jimi Hendrix, Bat For Lashes, Le Tigre, The Radio Dept, No Age and more.
There's also a very, very strong chance I'll be playing some choice garage cuts if the mood takes me - I'm talking Tina Moore's 'Never Gonna Let You Go', some Heartless Crew, a bit of MJ Cole... and perhaps even some Aaliyah, Kardinal Offishall and Lil' Mama. Not for the 'token', but because they're great.
And re: the name, 'woo.' (intentional full-stop), it's been done for fun. PR sez this:
woo. [wu?]
interj & n & vb
A less sycophantic and more authentic version of its descendent, 'woo!'.
