have to say, i've listened to it a few times now and i think it's all got a bit stale now. i think with 'Blinking Lights' he released an album so definitive and epic that it exhausted all his creativity. i remember thinking 'where the fuck does he go from here?' looks like the answer is a stylistic cul-de-sac. i wish he'd shake things up a bit, go for a bit more sonic adventurousness, like with 'flyswatter' or something along those lines. enough of this minimal folk melancholy already
