Worrying lack of discussion about The-Dream on here
So yeah, he cropped up in Pitchfork's honourable mentions list, as well as in Fact's tracks of the year rundown, but I don't think I've seen a thread about The-Dream on here before. So..here it is.
I don't think I've listened to an album this year as much as I have Love vs. Money, and I only got hold of it in August. It's completely brilliant; packed full of several 10/10 jams, fantastic narrative arc, Mariah Carey is on it, and Rustie included the track Sweat It Out mid-way through his recent-ish mix for Fact. There's a lot to love. The one-two of the title tracks are particularly great, as is Fancy where despite the beat only coming in during the closing seconds of the six minute-plus track still sounds mindblowing. Hard to pick a definite highlight, though personally I might plump for Put It Down (narrowly beating Kelly's 12 Play), as it bumps harder than pretty much anything I've heard all year (plus the lyrics are inspired).

Basically if you've ever liked an R Kelly song you will love this (as that last track link implies).
