The music this decade, be it radio pop or aLtErNaTiVe tunes, has just massively outclassed that of the 90s.

In terms of pop: for the first half you had horrible piano house and 'divas' wailing awful songs; the second gave us Eurodance and towards the end, boybands.

In terms of alt: you can count the decent bands anyone still talks about on one hand.

Everyone's well aware that the 80s is the major skidmark of recent times, but the 90s was only slightly better if you're being honest with yourself.
