A lot of people I know who are now around the 30 mark seem to be quite happy just liking what they did in 1997 and roundly declaring that everything else since has been crap (without ever having heard much of it, obviously). Now I for one blatantly disagree with this but have lost the will to argue about it at length due to the sheer tediousness of the subject.

However, I was thinking the other day about all these end of decade lists and I reckon that if I was to do a poll of my personal favourite records ever, then a lot of it would be made up of records from the 2000s. I still like a lot of bands from the 90s, but generally more the ones I've discovered this year or never really got at the time and now adore. If anything, I sometimes think I 'hate on' records from my youth a bit too much.

I'm a bit more nostalgic about gigs I reckon, generally finding them a bit less amazing than I used to but even then I reckon 2 of my favourite 3 gigs ever have occurred in the past 4 years.

Are you someone who only ever looks forward and would happily burn their Kenickie singles collection now, someone who has a cull every few months or someone who essentially thinks everything turned to shit after 'OK Computer'?
