Talons' Songs For Babes LP and Rustic Bullshit Out Now!
Yup, we're finally here, Talons' latest releases are completely available for yee all.
I got back yesterday and a big box of records was sitting in my hallway, its absolutely packed with stuff and my jaw did hit the floor when i was looking at how beautiful it was. Mike and Sommer have clearly put a huge effort into these two releases and it really shows. They really are lovely people.
Firstly for a good review of what Talons' sounds like I'd like to point you in this direction, http://musosguide.com/talons-songs-for-babes/8330.
I'm really sorry but the pre-orders will be sent off tomorrow, i had to do a two hour presentation on bureaucratic reform in qajar iran, a wee bit dull as you might imagine, then i came home and worked for five straight hours assembling the records but i still missed the post office before it closed. Anyway they'll go in the post first thing tomorrow.
I'll just let you know whats in them all as its really really lovely and as the band hand drew and painted and printed them every single one is different.
Songs For Babes LP - 50 LP sleeves which have been screenprinted with hand painted additions on recycled paper which comes with a booklet of lyrics, schematics and drawings, and the cdr for "Babes" inside a nice old kraft envelope. it also has a little boat-ed envelope with the songs for boats demo cdr in it, which comes in 5 different color boat drawings and a little info sheet as well. I'm also giving out free with the first 20 orders of Songs for Boats Trouble Books' latest 12" EP, Endless Pool.
The Rustic Bullshit CDr is also only limited to 50 copies, this is again a Kraft envelope which is hand typed and stamped with a lyric sheet/misc inserts and a nice colour photo. Its the saddest collection of songs ever.
