I was surprised to see the positive response to the question about good Australian bands — and mention not just of the relatively successful acts, but also quite a lot of lesser known acts, including some I don't know myself.

Heartened by the knowledge that some of the great stuff recorded in Australia is actually capturing the attention of the good folk of DiS, I thought we could get a bit more specific and get people's opinions on the best ALBUMS by Australian acts. Any best album picks by bands I don't know, I plan on following up.

I'll start. It's tough to narrow it down to much less than 20, so here's my top 20:
