That Ghost
Any DiS'ers familiar with him?
It's some random properly lo-fi kid in Santa Monica who just home records everything. I bought a self produced album off iTunes he made about a year ago. It's great. So raw. So simple. I don't know why - I just imagined that if Donnie Darko wanted to write songs, this would what he would write.

I don't know the first two tracks on his myspace. I know the latter two. I love them. I love the breathy production. The sleepy woozyness.
I actually emailed his little indie record label last year and asked if I could put out a limited vinyl, and we got very close to doing something. I did my prep work first. I emailed Rob Da Bank, asked his opinion, I even asked Steve lamacq. I'm quite lucky to have these contacts, and they both luckily got back to me saying it was very interesting. I was so close to pushing ahead with making my own little indie for just a one off.
He's got a track called 'I Crossed Out The Options' on his album 'Young Fridays' that i thought would go down well. He's got another beautiful one called 'Open Windows'.....and another song i wanted to release called 'I can't help it and I can't stop it'.....he's top.
I really felt at the time that I could do a very small limited release. like 100 vinyls. Get it promoted. Get him some gigs in London somewhere. Get him plays on a few specialist 6 music shows. Get Rob Da Bank to push him. John Kennedy might have even liked the music too. It could have worked.
But I chickened out. Ah well.
