Kranky Records rare London show with Benoit Pioulard and Boduf Songs
BREAKFAST IN AMERICA PRESENTS...
BENOIT PIOULARD (Kranky)
Since a young age, Thomas Meluch has been fascinated by natural sounds and the textures of decay. He began playing piano before his feet could reach the pedals, and for more than a decade has sought to create a unique sonic environment by combining remnants of pop song structures with the lushness and unpredictability of field recordings. A veteran drummer of a half dozen bands and an avid collector of instruments and analog devices, Meluch relies on guitar and voice as the bases for his work as Benoît Pioulard.

BODUF SONGS (Kranky)
Kranky artist Boduf Songs makes haunting music based on the traditions of British Folk. Hushed guitars, field-recordings and gentle electronics find themselves woven around the delicate sadness of Mat Sweet’s voice. Boduf Songs brings to mind a sunny English afternoon, with an ominous tinge of approaching clouds.

A GRAVE WITH NO NAME (Lefse)
Most of what London’s A Grave With No Name do enters the world through ‘The Church’, the bedroom studio of Alex Shields. Bassist Tom King and guitarist Anupa Madawela are called in when the time comes to add a more sturdy grunge backbone to whoozy dream-pop that blurs stoned-slackerisms into white noise and lost melodies.
