the violent femmes s/t debut is really bloody good isn't it?
I mean, i'm not gonna say it's genius or owt but what an affable, charming record. It's impossible to dislike, surely?
Loads of bands on their debut talk about just wanting to capture their sound maaaan, but i think this is one of the rare occassions where the spirit (warts and all) of a band has actually been distilled and committed to tape, for posterity like.
It kind of makes me nostalgic for a time and place that i was never a part of.
never really followed it up though did they? hmmm? HMMM?!?
