Clues celebrate Barrak Obama's Nobel Peace Prize. FREE MP3s
*Clues* will release a limited-edition 7" commemorating Barack Obama's Nobel Peace Prize (and their own forthcoming tour of UK and continent). Clues will be spreading a message of peace and harmony, while arguing the merits of bank nationalisation and the command economy, in a spirited musical performance that has been 'wowing' audiences since the release of their debut album in May 2009.
The 7" features a glorious remix of epic album track "*Ledmonton*" by the band themselves, and a heartbreaking early demo version of tragicomic album track "*You Have My Eyes Now*". The 7" will be limited to 500 copies and available only in concert through the remainder of 2009, packaged in a 4-colour silkscreened cover with 3-colour silkscreened art insert, all printed on thick linen-textured brown cardstock.
Meantime, to expedite the impending shift towards world socialism, and to generate a hypestorm of momentum behind Clues live dates, Constellation Records is making another MP3 available for the debut album, absolutely free of charge.

Clues are a terrific live band and it is not just us who think so:
"/One of the event's best shows/" - *Clues at Pop Montreal, 2009 - Spin Magazine*
*"*/The set by Clues last night was unquestionably fantastic. To be able to play a set of completely new material and suck in a sold out crowd is no small feat...Penner's vocals are so distinctive, his compositions so eclectic, and his stage presence so explosive yet edgy, that he can define a band just by being present on stage...Suffice it to say that Clues have defined a sound that, while relying heavily on Penner's influence, is most certainly its own. Unicorns fans will definitely not be disappointed. More than that, we're guessing that they'll be more than pleasantly surprised that Penner and Co. have passed The Unicorns legacy to create something new, but equally great./" - *Clues at Noise Pop, 2009 - hippiesaredead.com <http://hippiesaredead.com>*
The debut album by Clues is also terrific:
"/Montreal’s Clues have created a magnificent, off-kilter, decimated orchestral epic or a record; wilfully wonky and delightfully discordant; delicate vocal melodies soar above dented but shiny steam-punk homemade instrumentation. This is a truly unmissable record standing out among a season of great albums./" - 5/5 SUBBA CULTCHA
"/A splendid slice of raucous pop energy and indie rock idiosyncrasy that continues the strand of wonderfully individual yet oddly accessible releases...Clues offer up garage rock stomp, post-punk angularity, occasional melancholy interludes and a host of soaring anthemic, indie rock stormers, all delivered with just the right slant of oddness and genuine originality./" - ROCK A ROLLA
"/Clues marshals light and shade with some mastery/." - 4/5 UNCUT
"/Clues is a very assured debut with a fully formed aesthetic that exploits the strengths of its players while pushing them beyond their established comfort zones. With any luck, Penner will be able to stick with this project for a second album./" - PITCHFORK
"/Fans...have been waiting a heckuva long time for this record. Its a grimy, troubled spectre of a record that chases the frightened figure of pop down dark brass-haunted alleys, labyrinths of guitar murk and Lynchian cabaret halls/." - 8/10 ROCKSOUND
"A must have for fans of strange pop music."- AQUARIUS RECORDS
