I am currently organising a major event called "Shaking Europe" which will take place in Brussels in october 2006. The idea is to bring about 10.000 students from all over Europe for a whole weekend of music, debates about Europe with guests, parties and other events... Of the 10.000 we are hoping that about half will come from outside Belgium. In order to attract people we plan to organise a big concert evening at a major outdoor site in brussels on the friday evening. I am now trying to come up with and contact bands to play that evening. We need around 3 acts.

Any Ideas on which bands would be good?
Anyone ever organised something like this that could give some advice?
Anyone know any good booking agencies?

Keep in mind that the bands need to appeal as much to a guy from england as to a guy from Italy or Poland. We therefore need some pretty well known international bands but I'd like them to be pretty good as well (Not planning on getting james blunt or anything like that...).
