I subscribe to an ezine called pick me up and spotted this:

"I've been given a label to run (bless their foolish hearts)
and I want to launch it by putting out a compilation cd of
the best new unsigned bands in the UK. I'm obviously very
keen to make sure this doesn't translate into the best new
bands in the M25 area. The idea of the comp is to give each
band a bit of cash to record their best song, then we put
it on the cd and get it out there (we have major
distribution and backing), then we look to give a deal to
the best two or three." Gill
