Anyone here a fan of The Triffids? [semi-JAG*]
I don't know how many people here know (of) The Triffids or any of David McComb's other work, but The Triffids had a fairly big following in Europe back in the mid- to late-80s, so there might be a few around here who will be interested to hear about a new book on David McComb & The Triffids:

Not your average rock biography. Indeed, not really a rock biography at all, but a collection of pieces by friends, fellow musicians, photographers, cultural critics, scholars and others all inspired by the idea of the Triffids and all part of an engaging attempt to *respond* to McComb's creativity by doing something equally (yet differently?) creative with (and in) his memory.
There's also a collection of McComb's poetry that's been released at the same time:

The books aside, though, I'd be interested to know how much the name "The Triffids" means around these parts. Anyone a fan? Any of their songs/albums garnered classic status?
