Because, as we all know, sharing your opinions and views on music to the world is utter bullshit. We weren't drawn to indie rock by it's seemingly "outsider" orientation, the fact that it separates itself from the traditional music outlets, or even for the music at all. No, we came to indie rock so we could follow a larger mind, a group who could help us discover this new unheard music, by obscure bands we would have never heard otherwise, and then tell that mind, and anyone else's, to go fuck itself.

I don't agree with any of the lists people have posted, including Bitchdork's (LOL). Why is that? Because none of them are mine. I came to Drowned in Sound for one reason, and one reason only, to express my opinions to others over an anonymous bulletin board on the internet. I did not come however, to have any sort of discussion, to debate the quality of a band, or to work at creating a sort of consensus on the best albums or songs of the decade. When I post that I think Animal Collective is the worst band ever, despite every major review outlet claiming otherwise, I don't expect people to question me, or argue for the band. No, I expect a group of people to form and support me. Not because I like discussing how much I hate Animal Collective, but because online people can agree with opinions without having to see me and deal with my extreme stunts for attention and social failures that exist in the real world. This is why I come here, not to argue, but to speak and have you agree. Preaching to the choir may not convert, but it can boost up the preacher.

Back to why all these lists suck. Because none of them asked me what they should be. I would have given you a perfect list, full of LCD Soundsystem, Arcade Fire (only Funeral, they so fell out after that, I mean seriously, they got so popular and it sucked), Madvillain, and of course some radio pop as to not seem like an indie head (but I totally am). If they had read my list, and just posted that, not only would I have agreed, but everyone would have. If anyone did not agree, it wouldn't be that they had differing musical tastes or opinions. No, it would be obviously for no other reason than not being as smart as me. Idiots looking up at the scroll of a King.

That is what I leave you with, and why none of the lists that get posted I will agree with, and why I will start a thread to bash each and every one.
