a couple of weeks ago i did a "recommend an album from 2000" thread and got some pretty cool responses - very much enjoyed the Broadcast and Arco albums from that year, so i'm doing it again for 2001.

just recommend an album that you think passed a few people by, or didn't get the attention it deserved maybe from music fans, or whoever. you can recommend obvious stuff like vespertine or asleep in the back but most of us have probably heard them anyway.

my recommendation is Life Without Buildings - Any Other City. wonderful mix of post-punky/no-wavey style music with fantastic scat-style idiosyncratic vocals wih lyrics that sound like a human korg kaoss pad. i realise it gets a bit of love on here but you can never have too much

now go on, recommend an album from 2001!
