recently discovered the Sundays 1989 john peel session versions of tracks that would end up on READING, WRITING AND ARITHMETIC a full year later and the version of MY FINEST HOUR wipes the floor with the album version. a bit of a revelation as the track on the album was always a fave anyway. harder hitting drums, more fluid guitar, urgent breathless vocals, slightly unfinished lyrics... it's pretty amazing.
