ok so everyone know guitar solos are uncool, but when played at the right moment in the right style they can make a good song great. Personally i can't get enough of them.

My favourite kind are when they sound like a flurry of notes bleeding together, messily unfolding, turning one way then the other. J. Mascis does this best - always thrilling, always loud, always great.

but i also love the solo near the end of 'fin' by pavement

the one at the the end of 'the czar' by mastodon is also a great recent example.

and more of a lead part thatn a solo, but the distorted guitar line in 'slow nerve action' by the flaming lips is brilliant
