i dont know if thats quite what i wanted to ask.

earlier this month me and kelly watched this band that were kinda pretty in a clem snide fashion, then she found out the singer was also a jobbing actor celeb guy and it RUINED IT for us. like, we felt suckered by his innocent twinkly guitars and croaky voice, that instead of them being natural musical extensions of his soul and stories they were practised techniques he was using the same way he would in one of his shitty extra roles. i'm sure that some clever people who read this will think we just need to Grow Up, but it's a problem we're constantly stuck with and would like to ignore for the purpose of this question.

i read the article already, it was good but none of them do anything for me. it looks suspiciously like last years folk craze and slow club shit daintily over all of them.

so, whose like, the uk equivilant or closest to sparklehorse, or wilco? plz thx
