Wanted: bands for itty bitty new Camden venue
greetings, internet.
i'm running gigs at the camden head, which is located at 100 camden high street. 'WHERE IS THAT IN RELATION TO STUFF?' you ask. well, i can tell you it is opposite what was once woolworths but is now soon to be a sportswear shop (UGH!). it's also opposite the oh! bar, or whatever fabric (for it is they who have bought it) are gonna call it when its reopened... basically, 3 mins walk from either camden town or mornington crescent tubes.
upstairs is a small function room - we are talking maximum capacity of 80. bit of a betsey trotwood vibe going on. it's nice (if a bit hot at the moment. i'll be purchasing a couple of fans)! it can suit all sorts of line-ups and the size of the room means you're probably not going to need any massive bass amps in there...
the mixing desk and pa are obviously rather small and there are no monitors, but we're working with some fiiine sound engineers from the local scene, so you will be well looked after.
at the moment i'm doing the 3rd thursday of each month as set (apart from august, when the camden fringe festival takes over) but i want to do more gigs here in addition to that.
so, erm, send me your 'demos', yeah? or just links to m*space etc. this might suit some out-of-towners looking for their first london gig, as there won't be as much pressure on you to bring a shitload of people.

ps. i have a couple of gaps on july 16th that need filling if anyone is available and willing for that. i am vexed are playing (I LOVE THEM) and 5 cent theatre (tom from story one's new band).
pss. also going to be running more slightly larger gigs at one of its sister venues, the monarch, so if you're interested in that too then you can find me at the same email address.
ppps. there is no pay-to-play bullshit going on here and it's only going to cost £4/3 on the door for the punters to get in.
