Performance:
3 pieces in the first half hour, followed by the same 3 pieces slightly altered for the second half hour.
Pieces use text and/or either notated score or pitch-written (C, Bflat, etc) to guide/suggest themes for improvisation. Unpitched instruments (percussion/fx) are most welcome.
Pieces may use voice/body sounds and/or extended instrument techniques as well as traditional approaches.
Performers must watch the Plinth Occupant and try to interpret his actions/existence through improvisation and within the limits prescribed by each piece.
A conductor will be present to suggest orchestration, tempo, and any other considerations relevant to each piece.
Performers must watch both the conductor and the Plinth Occupant.
Performers must play without hesitation whenever they believe they should do so.
Finalised pieces will be circulated to participants very soon via email, along with a detailed breakdown of other relevant information; print-outs will be available at the event, as well as a brief discussion of the pieces prior to the performance. Pieces will in any case be easily interpretable and accessible.
