Evil Nine, Plugs & Transformer playing WeAreLive @ Scala — 29th May
Hey all
New to the site and wanted to let you know of a gig I'm putting on in a couple of weeks. We launch in March and packed the place out. Hope to catch you down there. Always looking for new acts and DJs to play each month...
Simon
??WeAreLive ??
After a packed out launch party, WeAreLive returns to Scala with a new host
of electronic bands and DJs aiming to bring the raw energy back to clubbing.
??????????
Hosted by DJ collective Tweek&Bleep & FarmFestival organisers, WeAreLive brings a unique mix of DJs and bands creating the energetic festival vibe under Scala’s roof…performing live is Evil Nine, Plugs, Transformer and Noise Control. Keeping the party going on the decks will be a shed load of DJs including Tom Real, Tweak&Bleep, Personal Space Invaders, Leatherhead, Sam Son and the Farmfestival DJs.
??????????
Heres a low down on our live bands!:
?? Evil Nine ??
They will make you laugh, yet tremble with fear. They will make you feel that the world has come to an end. They will make you question your own sanity. They will make you thirst for blood, for the taste of flesh-or at the very least, get you to dance your ass off like a motherfucker... "They" are Evil Nine.
If you loved Evil Nine’s productions and DJ sets, you are going to crème over the FULL live experience: Don't be surprised if Evil Nine Live! does for zombies what Daft Punk did for robots. With stomping electro drums, '80s Italian horror-movie synths, dirty punk basslines, and a wanton disregard for genre rules, the infamously subversive dance/electronic duo create an unstoppable soundtrack for the new zombie revolution!
"Just killer tracks" VICE
“Assertive, chunky, majestic" The Independent
"The Beastie Boys would be proud" Q
"Best album I've heard in a long time" Pete Tong
"Awesome" Zane Lowe
“Album of the year by the hottest producers" Eddie Temple Morris

?? Noise Control ??
Prodigy tour band - Noise Control is flying over from Dublin for a rare London performance. You may have heard their music on various playstation games alongside acts like Pendulum. Having already had stellar supports with some of the world's most exciting live acts including Underworld, Bassment Jaxx, Asian Dub Foundation, Mylo, Calvin Harris and The Prodigy (Liam Howlett personally picked them as support band for the Irish leg of "Their Law" tour), the Prodigy have again picked Noise Control for this summer's support at LIVE IN THE PARK with Hot Chip and the Japanese Pop Stars. Various festivals including a Castle Palooza headline slot and three dates at Glastonbury this summer mark Noise Control as a serious live act ..... all this without an album and only 2 single releases!

?? Plugs ??
Plugs take to the stage. Plus was been formed by Morgan Quaintance, the main man of the awesome Does it offend you, Yeah!? They have been taking the UK club and festival scene by storm! This electro / indie pop outfit draws comparisons to bands such as Hot chip and is bound for success due to their incredible energy on stage, catch rifts and beefy baselines! If you liked does it offend you, yeah!? you will love this!!

?? Transformer ??
The heavily touted electronic funksters Transformer will get limbs gyrating. Few bands right now are riding the new-wave disco interface quite like Transformer, the Brighton-based quartet described by brightonmusicscene.com com as “future disco heroes in the making”.
The group’s tautly-honed grooves draw inspiration from far-flung corners of the musical galaxy, meaning that their floor-friendly sound fits as comfortably alongside DJs like Erol Alkan as does supporting Holy Fuck, not to mention their extensive run of both British and international festival performances.
