Situationists R.I.P.
Some of you may already have heard the news, but unfortunately Situationists have decided to go their separate ways. They'll be playing their last London date this Friday as support to the William album launch at Lexington, and then one further home town date later in the month.
As a fan from the start (having loved Umlaut, from who's ashes they rose), I'm absolutely gutted. The two E.P.s we released were paragon examples of indiepop and they certainly got some love on here. Having heard the most recent songs they recorded (all at their own studio), I'm doubly disappointed that they never got to record and release a full album.
Good news though is that these four songs will see a wider release at some point - we're just waiting for them to be fully mastered. In the meantime, there will be a free download from our site featuring a remix of "Whiskey and Water" by The Aspirins For My Children and a newly recorded version of their cover of Daft Punk's "Digital Love". I'll post details nearer the time. Think there will also be some specially packaged free CDs containing these songs at the Lexington gig too.
But anyway, this is only mere consolation. Wish they were staying together. Ridiculously talented, as songwriters, musicians, artists and producers. Show them some love here: www.myspace.com/situationists
