I had a thought last night, probably will be picked to bits but I just noticed the similarity in their music (at least the early New Wave Devo), albeit with a more electronic and dance-orientated slant for Hot Chip as well as humorous and witty, though slightly off-kilter, lyrics. They've both had one or two well-known chart hits.

Also: they both like to dress up, have a live reputation and appeal that (to some extent) precedes their record sales, critical acclaim and their lead singers both seem like short, slightly pudgy men.
