A question of capacity, with a technologically decontextualised sub-clause
People who store music on their computer (whether from downloading or from digitising their CD collections in order to operate a computer-based jukebox), do you delete stuff, particularly as hard drive space becomes scarce? I don't mean rubbish stuff that you would never want to listen to again (and maybe never did in the first place), but stuff that definitely had its time in your listening space, and you might even listen to again, but not very often. I could use an external hard-drive or something I suppose, but I can't be arsed plugging that in every time just to browse some tunes on my computer (plus will my media player remember files from an external drive in its library?).
What do you all do?
Sub-clause: when space was measured in CD stacks rather than megabytes, did you sell old CDs? I could never bring myself to do it, and I held on to everything, even grungey rubbish I bought when I was younger (that is, until I moved countries, moved all the music I still liked onto my computer, and left behind even my most favourite albums in physical manifestation).
