Ambulance LTD - EP
My previous mini-review, it turns out, rather too closely mirrors the PF version, if not in flair. So I promised myself I'd quit this nonsense. Leave it to the professionals, as it were. Apparently, some guy named Diver can write. But my addict behavior automatically kicks-in and insists I break these sort of promises. It was a stupid ass promise anyway!
I gotta say that while PF review of the Ambulance LTD EP is spot on, its conclusions are pretenious and misguided. Imagine that.
Now, while I would have sworn on a stack of Bibles that Primitive (The Way I Treat You) is a cover song, the credits indicate otherwise. So maybe the Pitchfork dude has a point. But is the fact this Stonesy bluesy tune seems instantly recognizable such a bad thing? Not when we're talking about back when the Stones were a great band it isn't. The EP is a little Elliott Smith, a little MBV, a little Britpop, a little bit this and a little bit that, just like Nick Sylvester said it is. But when it's done this well, who gives a fuck? 9/10.
