When I was about twelve or thirteen me and the fellas took off at lunch time and drank a few beers. Like teenagers will do, you know. One rogue character felt the need to tell on us. The school called the cops and I was suspended for a week. As some of you have pieced together this was just the beginning of my forays into drink and drug and cops. But nevertheless, at the time, I felt very guilty about the situation. I sat at home sorta numb and turned on the radio. Robert Plant sang It's Nobody's Fault But Mine. It was like one of many warnings from the gods I chose to ignore. I felt that merely recognizing the preternatural sign was accomplisment enough. :-)
